Well, I said I would show (and tell about) my big project that is keeping me from doing some fun and unfinished projects I'd rather to be doing. Phew...a mouth full!! I also said that Pat and her GO cutter came one day and we cut 75% or so of the strips and squares. However, I then had to sew together strips and cut again and also cut more pieces. (Used rotary for this..ugh!)
I made this pattern earlier this year to give a coworker for her marriage. Loved the end result but, now remember how tedious it was halfway through the making of blocks!! Oops!!
This time I'm changing the center and personalizing it. (Also larger this time.) The center will repeat the patchwork pieced heart in a larger form and contain an entwined heart.
On my design wall I have laid out some of the pieces for the center of the quilt. On the paper is a template I drew and I'm following. (And some things not related!)
As of today I have squared 16 finished heart patchwork squares, pieced together the 4 corners and finished the 12 patchwork side triangles.
By the way, I am making this as a wedding gift for friends of my son (he's in the wedding) and we have known them for 12/13 years. The wedding is Aug. 20th in the Hampton's, NY and I think I will go, my husband may not.
So I have a deadline looming!!! I do think the creative thinking part is finished (often the hardest part) and only have a backing to choose (oops, binding to do,too!). So, not too much thinking now just labor!
Wish me luck and I apologize ahead of time for my lack of taking part in fun doings or showing new projects for a bit!!!
Oh, and I will post a finished picture (hope I like it)!!!

Wow it's beautiful!
Oh, I love this pattern! You've done a great job. Come over and visit me anytime! :)
Mind you...she designs these patterns HERSELF...on graph paper..NOT Electric Quilt!!! Didn't I tell you she does awesome work???
Oh..yes...and she forgot to mention (so I will) that she chooses her colored fabrics so that they have meaning for the recipient...prints that relate to their activities/interests/favorite things....so the whole quilt is very personalized!
Great job Sherry. I don't even begin to think about designing a quilt on paper. I have graph paper so maybe I SHOULD try it.
It's a gorgeous quilt. I love hearing/seeing about the personalization. I'm sure it will be treasured.
Great Job Sherry! Will we see it at Joanns tomorrow?
Oh this is just lovely! What a special gift this will be. I also wanted to say how much I love your header. I love labs. We had a yellow lab once that our kids named Tinkerbell. She was a wonderful part of our family. Have a wonderful Sunday. Winona
What a beautiful quilt! I can't wait to see it done. Luck couple!
That does look like alot of work...you have done a tremendous job. I don't even have one of those EQ7....so I know how much work you put into it. The receipent will love it.
Ohhh, I remember seeing the earlier quilt and loving it. A friend gave me a pattern similar to that one and I would love to make it one day. How lovely that you are making a special one for the friend of your son!
Beautiful! I'm sure it'll be treasured.
Wow...love your heart quilt. Scrappy quilts are the best!
